Research/Career Interests:
I am primarily interested in working with the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine to investigate the disease processes affecting marine mammals along the Oregon Coast.

Managing the Marine Mammal Stranding Network for the entire Oregon coast
Organizing regular meetings of Oregon stranding responders.
Training and facilitating volunteers; providing educational outreach
Collecting Level A, B, and C data from stranded mammals; conducting necropsies; collecting and banking of tissues; sharing specimens and information with collaborating researchers.
Maintaining database for all Oregon stranding responses
Reporting of stranding data to NOAA Fisheries

New England Aquarium, Boston, MA 8/96 – 10/05 Senior Biologist / Technician, Rescue and Rehabilitation
Responded to marine mammal and sea turtle stranding events throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine; included husbandry and veterinary care to physically distressed animals, diagnostic testing, preparing animals for release, & performing analyses
Principal Investigator in 5-year study of harbor porpoise habitat utilization of Boston Harbor.
Principal Investigator in study of diagnostics and satellite telemetry of mass stranded dolphins
